Waitressing Woes
I just kept fucking up, customers were cranky, I nearly had a breakdown & I’ve got to go back for dinner shift in 3.5 hours :,(
Hospitality can be a very corrupt industry so my question is: have you or a co-worker been sexually harassed in the industry?
It can be as subtle as flirting to well… Someone being forceful.
Has a co-worker or employer done this inside or outside of the work place?
and working for the next 4 days straight (gave my Sunday night shift to a co-worker that is stuck doing only one shift a week as I am attending a birthday after work on Saturday and hope to be quite hungover).
Right now I am enjoying peace and quiet in my kitchen, sipping instant coffee in my satin PJ’s and enjoying the warmth of the sun before winter hits. :)
Was terrible. We went on a wait at 11. (Telling people they had to wait to be seated.) We were super busy, which should be good because more tips. But, everyone was tipping terribly. :/ I got stiffed on a $95 bill and was only given $2 on a $68 bill; it was like that all day. I had to work from 11 am to 9 pm, no breaks. I didn’t even get to see my mom. :/ Sorry, but I thought you would understand so I decided to bitch to you. haha Hope you enjoy your days off though! :D
Day one: slept, avoided people, used Facebook.
Day two (today): went shopping, bought my best friend a birthday present & card, myself a $35 red trench coat from Target Country & some books.
Came home, tidied my room a bit, ate & am currently drinking Republica instant coffee.
And lunch shift was busy.
The entire restaurant was booked out.
My section had a booking of 17 people, 11 of which were kids.
I managed it fine, went on my break at 3:30, ate lunch at work (Cajun salmon Cesar salad with salt & pepper calamari, salt & pepper crumbed mushrooms & avocado) & went back to do a 2 hour shift at 6.
I now have two days off to enjoy doing nothing. Fuck I love Mondays :)
